c. 1770 High Chair by Johannes Quattlebaum

Johannes Quattlebaum, the father of John Quattlebaum and grandfather of General Paul Quattlebaum, two well known western Lexington County rifle makers, is believed to have made this rare 18th-century chair. Years of use have worn away the chair's upper front stretcher, though its original finish and tanned animal hide seat remarkably remain intact.
