Double Bag by Darrel Lang

This is a small double bag, hand sewn, made from 3 oz. vegetable tanned leather, dyed a dark brown and treated with bee's wax. The back portion of the bag has a 1 1/2" gusset sewn in while the front bag has just a welt sewn in, for a small bag it has a lot of room, there are no other pockets in the bag. The flap has some tooling done to it, to me it looks like an Aspen leaf. The finished size of the bag is 5" wide x 6" deep.

Darrell  specializes in the authentic replication of leather shot bags and accoutrement made in the colonies by the harness and cobbler maker of the 18th century. All items are hand sewn using waxed linen thread, dyed, them treated with Neatsfoot oil and bee's wax. The leather used is of veg. tanned cow hide 2-3 or 4-5 oz. weight. Other materials used are pig skin, period correct linens for the 18th century and iron or brass buckles.
