Fort Frederick

2015 John Jaeger Memorial School of the Ranger
23-25 January 2015 at Fort Frederick, MD

 The 2015 School of the Ranger takes place at historical Fort Frederick, MD from 12 pm on Friday, 23 January to 12 pm on Sunday, 25 January 2015.

 Co-sponsored by Jaeger's Battalion and the Friends of Fort Frederick, the School of the Ranger teaches you ranging skills for your 18th century Ranger persona. The School's instructors are experts in their subject matter and are sure to help you improve your skills and impression for the campaign trail.

 You must Preregister before January 10, 2015 to attend!

 Cost:$60.00.  Includes all classes plus Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast meals. Saturday night dinner will be a special Native American meal and should be special.

Conner Prarie

Baking Bread: Hearth Style

January 24; 1-4 p.m.
$60/$55 member

Blend traditional with contemporary as we explore the basics of baking bread in this Prairie Pursuits class. We’ll cover various types of corn bread, yeast bread, quick bread and make our own artisan bread using both hearth baking and modern baking techniques.

1st Saturday of Month 1 PM - 4 PM  from Jan 3, 2015 until Dec 5, 2015 
Visit the site each first Saturday of the month from 1pm-4pm to see blackpowder demos, colonial toys & games, and the occasional colonial craftsman (blacksmith, carpenter) at work. 912-437-4770.

The Fort Pitt Museum will be closed for routine maintenance and updating of exhibits from Jan. 5-30. The museum will re-open to the public on Jan. 31.
